Karey Spenst Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Karey Spenst is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
EDMONTON, AB, CANADA, November 30, 2010 /Human Resources PR News/ -- Karey Spenst, Vice President of Human Resources of Fountain Tire Ltd., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in executive strategic planning and human resources strategy and leadership.
Karey Spenst is an executive team member responsible for establishing and aligning the strategy of a $400mm company. She also oversees the human resources portfolio, including the four key focuses of safety, learning and development, talent management, and total compensation. Ms. Spenst joined Fountain Tire Ltd., a tire and mechanical sales and service company in 2006, bringing with her more than 20 years of multi industry experience. She enjoys the profession of human resources as it opens doors to acquaintances and continuous networking. "At the executive level, I am afforded introductions at influential levels. Through these many interactions, I have been able to connect people and support them in their lives and careers. This is the ongoing highlight of my career," she explained. She attributes her success to "ambition and planning aligned with opportunity and blessing", "continued efforts to broaden my experience and expertise and find opportunities to apply it" and "taking calculated risks."
When asked about her future plans, she said, "I plan to be a key part of Fountain Tire Ltd.'s national growth."
Ms. Spenst is certified in executive project management, and holds a diploma in business management with a major in Human Resources. She occasionally lectures at the University of Alberta and maintains affiliations with the Human Resources Institute of Alberta, the HR Leadership Council, the Retail Council of Canada, and the Canadian Council of Human Resource Management. She volunteers with H.A.R.T (Humane Animal Rescue Team), and actively supports Plan Canada, Church Communities and United Way.
