Kim J. Long Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Kim J. Long's passion for computers contributes to her success as a Senior Programmer Analyst for Tyson Foods, Inc.
Siloam Springs, AR, June 22, 2010 /Human Resources PR News/ -- Kim J. Long, Senior Programmer Analyst for Tyson Foods, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in product development.
As a senior programmer analyst for Tyson Foods, Inc., Kim J. Long is responsible for overseeing project management on various projects. She recently created a data model for a system that is replacing an old legacy system. She has managed the successful implementation of temperature recording systems in several new locations. This requires working with their customers, vendors, quality assurance department and plant personnel. She successfully implemented a trailer data management enhancement for the Tyson fleet that allowed them to track locations of trailers across the country. In this project she worked as a liaison between their transportation business group and the vendor that owns the software requiring enhancement to ensure they achieved the desired results. She became involved in her profession because of her interest in computers and attributes her success to her goal-oriented nature, willingness to learn new things and desire to take on challenging assignments.
Ms. Long successfully managed an Active Directory Implementation and AT&T MPLS Implementation across multiple sites for her previous employer. She moved their database structure from Sybase 7 to SQL Server 2005 technology and began integrating .NET Applications into their environment as new customers where brought on board. She was known as the go to person because she would get things done.
Ms. Long worked for a parts inventory company based in Memphis, TN assisting them to enhance and integrate a recently purchased product into various customers accounting systems such as Great Plains and AccPac.
As an intern while attending Missouri Southern State University she was actively involved in creating the GUI and testing battery chargers for use by the United States Navy.
Ms. Long received her Master of Science in 2005 from Missouri Southern State College and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Phoenix in 2001.
Ms. Long is active in her children's schools, with Arkansas Crisis Center's Journey Walk, United Way's Young Professionals, NWAPMI and AITP. She actively participates in the Women's and Multi-Cultural business resource groups at Tyson organizing professional development and growth opportunities for fellow team members as well as participating in service projects for the community.
