Libby Carter-Otuya Recognized for Excellence in Public Healthcare
Libby Carter-Otuya received a master of public administration from Baruch College
NEW YORK, NY, June 10, 2010 /Human Resources PR News/ -- Libby Carter-Otuya, Recruitment and Retention Manager for the Nurse-Family Partnership program at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in public health.
An expert in program development, Ms. Carter-Otuya has 16 years of experience in her field. At the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she has been employed for eight years, and had been in this new role for two years. She is responsible for overseeing administration; she reviews resumes and curriculum vitaes, manages employee recruitment and develops new retention programs. Previously, Ms. Carter-Otuya worked for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation. She attributes her success to her hard work and commitment.
In 2005, Ms. Carter-Otuya received a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College. She is now pursuing a workforce planner certification. In the future, she hopes to obtain a Ph.D. in public health or public administration.
In the fall, the Nurse-Family Partnership Program of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will launch a clinical rotation program. The 14-week program will benefit nursing students interested in working in the field of public health. It is expected that this program model will be adapted nationally.
