Houston attorney Randall Sorrels has been named an officer and attorney Daniel Horowitz has joined the board of the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists (TACTAS).
HOUSTON, TX, October 31, 2011 /Human Resources PR News/ -- Attorneys Randall Sorrels and Daniel Horowitz, partners at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend in Houston, have been named as an officer and board member respectively of the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists (TACTAS).
TACTAS is a group of judges and lawyers who have been certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in civil appellate law, civil trial law, or personal injury trial law. The organization promotes the availability, accessibility and quality of the services of civil trial and appellate lawyers to the public.
Attorney Randy Sorrels, who was named secretary of TACTAS, began his legal career in 1987 after graduating magna cum laude from the South Texas College of Law. In 1990, he moved to Abraham Watkins, where he handles cases involving serious personal injury, catastrophic events, wrongful death and disputes between businesses. He is now the managing partner of the firm, and has provided strong leadership as the firm has become more diverse and involved with the community.
Mr. Sorrels is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Personal Injury and Civil Trial Law. He is also board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocates in civil trial law. He appears in many lists of top lawyers, Sorrels has been named one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine.
Daniel D. Horowitz III, named a partner at Abraham Watkins in 2011, has been listed as a Rising Star in Texas Monthly's Super Lawyers issue since 2008. He is a frequent presenter at legal workshops and seminars on topics that range from attorney's fees to managing client relationships. A graduate of the University of Texas, he received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2002. In 2008, he became board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Mr. Horowitz is an active member of the legal community, serving on numerous professional boards in addition to TACTAS. He is particularly passionate about organizations that help people who might not otherwise receive justice, and contributes many hours of work to the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He also serves on the board of directors of the State Bar of Texas.
