New York Construction Accident Lawyer at The Perecman Firm Calls for More Rigorous System of Construction Site Inspections

In two weeks, two structure collapses have claimed the lives of two construction workers and have injured others. Architects on one of those sites had a history of flouting regulations.

NEW YORK, NY, November 20, 2011 /Human Resources PR News/ -- Following last week's collapse of a Brooklyn building, New York construction accident lawyers at The Perecman Firm are calling for a more rigorous system of inspections. One construction worker died and four were injured in the Brooklyn condo complex collapse.

"Workers and employers who flout safety laws need a greater fear of being caught," said New York construction accident lawyer David Perecman.

Bricolage Architecture and Design's Douglas Pulaski and Henry Radusky, the architects of the condo complex that collapsed, have a history of flouting regulations, according to the New York Daily News.

Officials said concrete is normally poured from the bottom floors up, but the contractor was working down from the third floor before the building collapse. Apparently, if workers start from the bottom, it takes longer to set up.

Pulaski and Radusky were both previously forced by the New York Department of Buildings (DOB) to surrender some privileges because of problems with other projects, reported the New York Daily News.

DOB safety inspectors now conduct inspections based mostly on complaints.
Less than two weeks before the Booklyn construction accident, a construction worker died when a Bronx building collapsed.

New York construction accident lawyer Perecman and his team of New York construction accident lawyers at The Perecman Firm have recovered millions of dollars for clients injured in construction accidents.
